My name is Ronnette Curls , I have been a teacher for  over 30 years. “As an educator, I have witnessed firsthand the disparities among students and families when it comes to accessing basic hygiene necessities. I’ve also seen how these challenges are often compounded by low literacy levels, creating barriers to health, learning, and overall well-being. 

We are a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, dedicated to restoring dignity and empowering minds through hygiene and literacy. Our mission is simple but powerful: to provide hygiene care kits and literacy tools to people in need—because everyone deserves to feel clean, confident, and capable of learning.

Every care kit we deliver includes handmade soap bars, essential hygiene items, and engaging literacy materials for both children and adults. Our soap bars for kids even include small surprise toys to make handwashing fun and frequent!

Lack of consistent access to soap, water, toothbrushes, and sanitation drives serious health risks—creating an urgent need for hygiene support among unhoused and low-income residents.

Low early literacy rates mean many children fall behind by third grade, directly impacting their lifelong academic success—especially in communities you serve, such as Skid Row, shelters, and low-income schools.
